ALUMNI GRANT
About the Grant
Overview
The Tanglin Trust School Foundation Alumni Grant is a unique initiative designed to inspire and empower Tanglin Alumni to actively engage with their communities and make a positive impact on the world. At the heart of this endeavor is the desire to cultivate a sense of social responsibility and encourage Alumni to become exemplary role models for our current students. The grant is specifically intended to support activities related to Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS).
Eligibility
Only current Year 13 students and Tanglin Alumni (18-23 years old) may apply.
We only support activities related to Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS), Kindly also note that the Alumni Grant can only support 50% (only up to $1000 SGD) of the total course/programme fees and we do not support travel related expenses. You will be asked to provide invoices and receipts to receive payment.
Matching Grant
The Alumni Grant is capped at SGD $1000 and each recipient is required to match the requested grant amount with their own earnings. To qualify, applicants must provide evidence of their earnings, such as pay slips or an official letter confirming employment from their employer, with a preference for more recent earnings. The idea is that we support alumni by co-paying their course or project.
For instance, if you are applying for a course that costs $1500 SGD, you are eligible to receive up to $750 SGD in grants. To qualify for this grant, you need to provide salary slips showing you have earned at least $750 SGD to co-pay for the course. If you have only earned $500, we can only give you $500, not the full $750 grant.
Please note that we do not support travel related expenses. Travel expenses include flights, accommodation, travel insurance and any other miscellaneous costs associated with travel. What we are looking for is the total cost of your course or programme.
Application & Interview
Applicants, whether individuals or groups (up to a maximum of 4 members, all of whom must be Alumni), are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal outlining how their proposed activity aligns with educational benefits and learning outcomes linked to the Tanglin Learner Profile. Successful applicants will be invited to present their proposals to the Alumni Grant panel.
Upon completion of the funded activity, it is expected that Alumni will share their insights and experiences with current students by submitting a written report. This knowledge-sharing aspect further reinforces the community-driven ethos of the Tanglin Trust School Foundation’s Alumni Grant.
