In advance of the school's Centenary in 2025, the Tanglin Trust School Foundation launched the Adventurous Expedition Award. It is aimed to support Tanglin Alumni in audacious projects that require teamwork, endurance, resilience, and tenacity. They may be pioneers in a particular activity or be following a road less travelled – summiting Everest, rowing the Atlantic, voyaging to Mars.
Support is available in two parts - firstly to help with the costs of such an endeavour and secondly to enable sharing with our student and alumni community as an Inspirational Speaker. To apply and find out more email us at alumni@tts.edu.sg.
First Recipient of the Adventurous Expedition Award
In 2021, we were delighted to award Charlotte Harris (2009 cohort) the first Adventurous Expedition Award. Charlotte took part in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge and with a teammate rowed across the Atlantic in late 2021. Calling themselves the 'Wild Waves' they took this on as a personal challenge and to support several charities through this trip.
Charlotte and her rowing partner, Jess, rowed more than 3,000 miles from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands to Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua and completed the race in 45 days on 26 January 2022!
If you are planning on undertaking an extraordinary adventure and would like to apply for this Award, please email us at alumni@tts.edu.sg.
