Young Alumni of the Year

Young Alumni of the Year

In 2023, a new, fifth award category has been added – Young Alumni of the Year. Whilst Tanglin was founded almost 100 years ago in 1925, the Senior School wasn’t established until the early 2000s, with the first Sixth Form cohort graduating in 2003. With this in mind, the school has decided to honour this group of younger Alumni with the Young Alumni of the Year Award (for Alumni 19 to 30 years of age).

Cameron Tweed - Young Alumni of the Year 2023

Cameron Tweed - Young Alumni of the Year 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Cameron Tweed (2021 cohort) has been chosen as the first recipient of the Tanglin Young Alumni of the Year Award for 2023. Cameron, a five-time World Tap Champion, and law undergraduate at Oxford, attended Tanglin from Reception until Year 5 before relocating back to the UK in 2013.

Our young alum’s success in the arts goes beyond just tap dancing; Cameron has an impressive portfolio, from doing voiceovers for Nickelodeon to performing in the West End production of 'Big the Musical!'

From a very young age, Cameron’s passion for performing and the arts was evident in his performances in various school productions, pantomimes, and local children’s television programmes in Singapore. He is still performing whilst at university and using his talents for a good cause by supporting fundraising activities for his chosen charity.

Congratulations, Cameron, on being named Tanglin Young Alumni of the Year 2023! We are immensely proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing your continued success.
