A Letter to Granny

An original letter from John Joseph Mack who attended Tanglin in the 1940s

Dear Granny

The Lower Division of our form is doing Fractions now. Two boys are making a “V” for victory for the class-room.  They made it in wood in Carpentry We have had two Brown-outs on the 15th and 16th of September.

Figaro caught a big rat. Some people who learn riding have learnt how to do bareback riding. Miss Griff is taking gym because Miss Raine has hurt her foot. We have been tracing the Antarctica continent. In drawing we have been doing friezes. The mother cat has had three kittens.

There was a big rat in the new building but it was caught in a trap.

 With love from

  John
